As a service to landowners, River Country RC&D annually purchases native prairie seed in bulk quantities. The prices of the seed are generally less than retail due to the bulk order process. Landowners also do not have to worry about their seeds meeting government standards as the highest quality seed is usually the bid winner.

The process begins with landowners submitting a copy of their seed plan or a River Country order form (see below) if there’s no seed plan. River Country then pools all orders and solicit bids based on the combined seed amounts. Species are evaluated and selected by PLS (pure live seed) value, species origination, and price. Landowners receive an invoice the first week of March which itemizes the cost of their order based on the accepted bids. Landowners then have 15 days to review, make any changes, and remit a minimum payment to confirm the order. The remaining balance of the order is due upon pick up, or prior to shipment, in mid April.
